Interactive Ophthalmology Cases

Nothing sharpens your diagnostic skills better than a carefully selected tricky case study and a high level discussion.

We would like to present tough cases from everyday life that might be difficult in differential diagnosis – tell us what You think and see what others would have thought and done!

With participants and opinions from countries as different as Latvia, Uruguay, Pakistan, United Kingdom, Germany and India, from students to head physicians, this section reflects desired plurality!

In contrast to other case reports, we want to present expert-level cases that do not have a unambiguous solution: A case report with one specific solution will only add more encyclopedic knowledge to Your repertoire, while an open-ended case report will train Your methods.

Therefore each case highlights a specific problem expressed in the introduction.

We won’t offer the satisfying feeling of solving a puzzle correctly, but something more valuable: You will train Your skills by developing proper methods for “how to proceed” and You will help others to train their skills by giving them your perspective.

Don´t be afraid to send Your opinion even if You do not know the “right” answer. It’s meant to be tough.

So we want to invite You to participate – You may also stay anonymous, if You wish so. Please send Your opinion and explanations about how You would go on. We will publish it in the “Opinions”-section of each case.

If You have an interesting (and well illustrated) case that You would like to present here, please feel free to send it to us!

We have “open” and “hidden” cases: In an “open” case, You will be able to see others´ opinions without participating Yourself. In a “hidden” case, You have to send Your opinion first before You will be able to see what others think.
